Electrical Engineer / Designer – Power Systems & Estimating

We’re seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer/Designer to join our team and take ownership of both design and estimating functions.

Job Summary: As an Electrical Engineer/Designer, you will play a key role in designing power distribution systems and preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects. This is a dynamic opportunity to impact both the technical and financial success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical power distribution systems (service entrance, feeders, panels, lighting, etc.) per NEC and local codes.
  • Develop one-line diagrams, load calculations, and layouts using AutoCAD, Revit, and related tools.
  • Conduct lighting design, voltage drop calculations, and coordination studies.
  • Prepare cost estimates for all design phases, using Accubid or equivalent software.
  • Analyze construction documents to produce accurate material take-offs and labor estimates.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to align design with project budgets.
  • Respond to RFIs and support construction teams during project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and promote sustainable design practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; however, candidates without a degree may be considered if they hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license or a Designer of Engineering Systems license, which is preferred in lieu of a degree.
  • 3–7 years of experience in electrical design and estimating.
  • Experience in design-build or general contractor environments.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Accubid (or similar estimating tools).
  • Strong knowledge of NEC and construction standards.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple estimates and designs simultaneously.
  • LEED certification and BIM experience are a plus.
