Position Summary

Roman Electric Co., Inc. is seeking a skilled Union Journeyman Electrician to join our team. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in compliance with all applicable codes and safety standards. Work will span commercial, industrial, and multi-family environments, requiring both independent execution and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Maintenance

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, and control systems.

Troubleshooting

  • Diagnose and resolve electrical issues efficiently, including wiring, circuits, and system components.

Code Compliance

  • Ensure all work aligns with local and national electrical codes.
  • Stay current on code updates and industry standards.

Blueprint Interpretation

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute installations accurately.

Safety

  • Follow all safety procedures, including PPE use and lockout/tagout protocols.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with team members, contractors, and project managers to meet project timelines and budgets.

Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and inspections completed.

Continuing Education

  • Participate in ongoing training to stay current with evolving electrical technologies and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Valid Wisconsin Journeyman Electrician License

    OR

  • Minimum of 12,000+ hours of electrical experience, verifiable through pay stubs, W-2s, or other acceptable documentation
  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or union training program (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes
  • Proficiency with electrical tools, testing equipment, and diagnostics
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

  • Ability to distinguish color-coded wiring in varying lighting conditions
